Every year, during kitten season, animal rescue organizations like APN face a surge in the number of kittens needing urgent care. This season has already begun, with pregnant cats being spotted in colonies and others entering heat rapidly. It’s a critical time for us, and your support can make an enormous difference in saving vulnerable lives.

At APN, we focus on rescuing kittens from colonies where they are exceptionally susceptible to predators, illness, and injury. Once in our care, every kitten goes through a comprehensive vetting process, which includes parasite treatment, vaccinations, and spay or neuter surgeries. They are also microchipped to ensure their safety in the long term. Fragile and unweaned kittens, often abandoned, are among our most urgent cases. These young ones would not survive without dedicated and immediate intervention.

Why Your Support Matters

Caring for these kittens is a labor-intensive and costly process:

  • Unweaned kittens require 24/7 care, including bottle-feeding with specialized kitten formula and, later, an age-appropriate diet of high-quality kitten food.

  • Veterinary expenses for treatment of upper respiratory infections, injuries, and other health issues, alongside vaccinations and procedures, quickly add up.

  • Each litter can cost between a few hundred to several thousand dollars, depending on their age, size, and health condition upon arrival.

Despite these challenges, we are committed to giving every kitten we rescue the highest level of care. From intake to adoption, APN kittens are nurtured with unwavering dedication, ensuring they grow up healthy, safe, and ready to find their forever homes.

The Impact of Your Donation

Your generosity directly saves lives. With your support:

  • Kittens receive the medical attention they need to recover and thrive.

  • Vulnerable lives are protected from outdoor dangers, such as predators and disease.

  • Orphaned and abandoned kittens have a second chance at life.

  • Reduced unaltered populations in colonies contribute to fewer litters in the future.

By contributing to APN during kitten season, you are helping us provide these little ones with the care, love, and resources they need to survive and flourish. Your donation, whether large or small, will go directly toward making this lifesaving work possible.
