How You Can Help
Rescued horses have lived a hard life. Many are purchased by horse rescue groups, at horse auctions, where the majority end up being sold for slaughter. Horse rescues give slaughter bound horses a second chance at life. After they are brought into the rescues, they are given extensive veterinary care, rehabilitation and retraining so they can safely be placed with new owners. Some rescue organizations provide life-long homes for their animals, but most horse rescue groups are actively looking for responsible new owners who are willing to adopt their rescued horses.
Animal Protection Network helps place rescued horses with caring owners. Rescued horses are often retrained for adoption so the remainder of their lives can be spent appreciated by their owners, free from abuse and harm.
Make a difference in the life of a rescued horse by sponsoring them. The cost of preparing a rescued horse for adoption is expensive. Vaccinations, veterinary care, retraining and food are essential for each horse.
Some rescued horses require special medical care due to their physical condition when saved from the kill pens. Your donation to the Angel Fund will help them recover, so they can be placed with loving owners.
There are many ways to make a lasting impact on the life of a rescued horse. Please consider adopting a rescue horse, sponsoring a rescue horse or helping those horses that are most needy through the Angel Fund. In each case, you will be making a life-changing difference for a rescued horse.
