Intended for veterinarians who are focused either on 1) high volume feral cat populations, 2) learning a more efficient approach to standard sterilizations, or 3) improving outcomes for spays/neuters via shared techniques for reducing morbidity.
Surgery will be focused on modern “keyhole incision” for the spay/neuter of cats. Hands-on surgery will be performed by each attendee. Tech support will be provided. Also offered are demonstrations and recommendations for initial prep of patient and post follow-up to surgery. Taught by Dr. Melanie deHaan, with 20 years of extensive experience in this area of veterinary medicine. The owner of SOS, Dr. deHaan also trains veterinary students at OSU and students in the Columbus State Vet Tech Program, as well as works with veterinarians at the Franklin County Dog Shelter.
